Press Release, Autumn/Winter 2011

The Autumn/Winter 2011collection epitomises the spirit of Miss Mandalay, featuring seductive prints and flirtatious details. For the lingerie, old favorites are brought back with some with new colour ways. The lingerie uses a tantalizing palette of berry reds, jet blacks, midnight blues and mink. Animal prints and gingham trimmed with Austrian lace also feature, all accented with either leopard print bows or red highlights.

The swimwear continues with its classic nautical theme from Spring/Summer, interspersed with winter brights such as Aruba and Cannes. One, a spotted print and the other, neon animal print. This time of year is also when we will be showcasing our first maternity tankini, Fawn. It’s comfortable yet flattering fit is sure to be a hit with all new mums!

Miss Mandalay is the label of choice for fashion conscious women blessed with a larger than average bust. Having identified a gap in the market for well-fitting, luxurious yet sexy lingerie and swimwearwith a fun flirty edge for the bigger bust, Lorraine Morton set up the Miss Mandalay brand in early 2005.

From the very beginning, the brand has been met with enthusiasm. UK independent lingerie boutiques and high street retailers, who realized they needed to be able to offer their customers fashionable bras in larger cup sizes snapped up Miss Mandalay, hardly surprising since over a million women in the UK have a bra cup size measuring D plus. Since then, the brand has gone from strength to strength and is stocked by leading UK retailers such as Bravissimo, ASOS.COM, John Lewis and high-end independents such as Apartment-C London and Rumpus Lingerie in Cheshire.

The garments are stylish, supportive and well-made with much thought going to into their design and shape. The lingerie is centred around supportive yet beautiful balconette bras, with high end styling. As for the swimwear, soft yet supportive fabrics in sophisticated plains and stylish prints (all from leading European fabric mills) are accessorized with heat resistant metal fittings, the under wiring providing an added boost to the bust. All lingerie and swimwear feature matching separates offering loyal devotees, and new converts styles to fit every mood/whim and shape. The popularity of the brand means that this year, not only the larger than average busted woman gets to enjoy the range, the cup sizes now range from B to HH, with bra band sizes ranging from 28 - 38”.
